Gday Just bought the vehicle 1985 high top double badged drover /sierra. Its got 2" lift with EFS leaf springs and shocks , 31" muddies on 15x7 rims . Now the fuel consumtion is around 40 litres per 100kms!!!! Crazy stuff, it starts first go generally but if it doesnt it drowns and takes a while to start . Stinks of fuel all the time and strong fuel smell from exhaust . It drowns under medium acceleration also. Had a good look over /under the vehicle and no fuel leaks , the mechanism for the accelator cable to carby stcks a bit so it doesnt idle down and sits around 1000-1250rpm at idle. Lubed it no difference. Played with the idle speed screw ..no diff. Yet to go further than this....So anyone had any experience with this sort of thing and sny possible solutions or things to try out, Im handy i just need direction. Thanks ...cool site btw |

Choke is busted and stuck on... Plus if you're running 31s and no gearing you'll be revving quite low which won't help (they like to rev). Also keep in mind a 31" tyre is about 20% larger than factory, so 100km/hr on the speedo could infact be 120km/hr and likewise on the odometer. |

Either replace the choke or convert it to manual. I hated the stock choke when i had the 1.3... mine died a few times. Useless bloody things. I never put a genuine one in though. You can get Genuine here: http://www.suzistore.com.au/four-wheel- ... etail.html |
