So iv found that the carby iv got is a 32/36 dgav. Turns out the choke on it isnt hooked up either. Just wondering where on the g13a the water line is for the choke on these carbs??

Cheers

Is there a provision for the water choke on the DGAV? Mine was manually choked.

im really confused now..... the stamp on the carb is 3236 dgav 19A then also has 001103 stamped beside it.... doing some research and the dgav is water choked, dgev is electric choke and dgv was manual choke.... however iv just crawled all oveŕ it and it looks nothing like the dgav choke style with the two barbed hose ports hanging off the side... nor does it have the dgev style either.

Mine was DGAV and manual only... maybe an Aussie / USA thing?

There is some real fuckery going on here. Someone has removed the whole choke assembly from the dgav carb leaving it resemble a dgv model without its choke assembly, hence the confusion im having but iv just been going over the dgv and dgav/dgev exploded diagrams (both dgev and dgav have same linkages just slightly different choke configurations) and sussed it all out I believe. There is some small casting differences that allowed me to identify it...... sooooo now that thats sorted, who has the water choke assembly??? Not liking my chances -_-

Can see in this shot where the assembly has been removed and blanked off the mounting points

I have both 32/36 and 38/38 no choke on either. Middle of winter cold, 6c or so, may take two or even 3 key hits to start, once running, no drama, anything bar the coldest, it is very unusual for it then not to fire up straight away.

Good to know bud, ill keep playing with the idle mixture and idle speed. Pretty sure its the main cause for It needing the choke as it sits now....
