Hi guys so my 97 vitara g16b reached 200000km so i decided to give her an oil change, after refilling her with oil I noticed on the dipstick she was smack bang on full and after driving around for 20 minutes or so, I checked the dipstick again and noticed it was about 10mm above the full mark. It drives just fine but initially before driving it, there was a burning smell and a bit of white smoke coming from the extractors. I figured this was just because i had spilt oil down the side of the block and onto the extractors causing the smell, but now after driving it the smoke has stopped but the smell still remains and was just wondering if it will be fine or i need to take some oil out? Rookie mistake I know but cheers in advance!
A small amount of extra oil won't hurt anything. Just keep an eye on the level over the next week or so. You can degrease the area where the oil was spilt
