Just wondering where you guys have mounted your recovery hooks on your leaf sprung Sierra's. Photos would be good.

Thanx 11_Evl.My car has a standard body, right down to the original bumpers for now, so neither of those points are any good to me. I like the photo's though and judging by the love taps on your car, remind me to wear my brown undies if I ever come and ride shotgun with you ;)

hay mate iv put some on the rear of my coily im prity sure u can do it the same on a leafy.
i just used 1 of the holes at the rear were u mount a tow bar (the 1 in line with the chasie) and drilled a hole behined it, than i bolted a 3500kg recovery hook to it and i also put some 5mm steal plate each side, its heeps strong iv pulled big patrols and luxes out with it and havent had a problem i just use a exulizer strap to spread the load when its a big recovery.

hears some pics

do you have a towbar ?

i just made a shorter piece of 10mm plate with the tow ball tongue bolt pattern with a hole big enough for a large d shackle pin.

Don't have a towbar yet, but it is on the cards. That's probably the best idea for a recovery point on the rear, and will probably be the way to go.
@ Scottysj80 That is where I originally intended fitting them on the rear of my car, but after I inspected it, I realised the leaf spring shackles would hit under flex if I fitted them there.
What about the front of the car??

well done, best recovery hook idea ever, i might just go and do that to my sierra right now and never have to worry about an unsafe recovery every again. lol

I don't get stuck. I wanted recovery points so I could get all the bigger cars in our club out of the shit
