hey all,
curious, is the 1991 SWB Vitara JLX (G16a EFI version) a 4 speed auto or 3 speed?

That's a bit of a trick question. A 1991 SWB EFI Vitara will be a g16a throttle body EFI (so a Japanese market escudo.) The auto is a th-180c three speed with lockup torque converter. All Australian delivered 1988-1994ish SWB Vitaras were carby and have th-180 autos (trimatic) with no lockup converter.
All LWB Vitaras in Australia are multipoint EFI and have aw-4 autos. (1991 onwards)
