Hi guys, about a month ago I got my hands on a tidy, super low mileage 1982 sj410 (the one in my avatar) and have truely been bitten by the bug. It already had 31" mt's and 2" ome springs but some serious scrubbing issues, so quite quickly got stuck in to try and solve it.
Iv spaced the wheels out and fitted 2" longer shackles and changed the shocks as the standard ones were near fully extended, so now it's pretty flexy and rolls great over fairly even ground but as soon as u get some articulation on the go the front tyre will get jammed up against the back of the inner guard.
So iv done a little careful beating of the seams and inner panels, which has improved but not solved the problem. I know I need to regretfully extend the bumpstops a little, but I'm thinking to get enough clearance I'm Gona need to do a bodylift.
What are your thoughts, anyone been down the same route for this problem?? I'd be thankful for any advice! Desperate to get this rolling right asap as iv got 2 weeks off work soon and feel a 4x4 camping holiday is on the cards
