Post subject:  Groaning noise when driving off

Hi,

A few days ago I bought a second-hand Jimny (2010, 23000 km). Occasionally, when I drive off briskly, there's a low groaning noise and some vibrations coming from underneath the car. Exactly the same problem was described by Silverwater in his post 5 years ago http://auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13896&p=870367#p870367, who described as sounding like a tyre rubbing on a mudguard (but no solution posted). I'd be really glad for any tips as to what could cause this noise and whether I should be concerned about it.

Thanks All!

Jackshaft uni failure, rear CV joint failure, broken transfer mounts, or a damaged transfer case.

Seems that transfer noise/failure in this model isn't unknown.

Steve.

I used to have a groaning noise while driving, but now I leave her at home.
