If you can find a k6a with auto as per that picture- that's about the best possible engine for an LJ.

i'd go K6A auto. no doubt about it go to be the best option
if i could find one thats what would end-up in my LJ50. would even consider a manual but i'd have to think about that one.

I have been watching his thread for some time now im jealous

I've had a F6 turbo before and we did two of them at the same time mine was without a drama and was the latter F6 late 90s raw aloy rocker cover and my mates early 90s black rocker cover had to have the turbo rebuilt due to end float and also for knowledge they ran larger oil lines in the latter turbos as we found out when he borrowed mine to do a comp he was in while his was being rebuilt.

K6 sounds the go ill have to see what sort of price the front cuts are going for ATM i have heard that they are shying away from the F6 due to the age?

The K is definitely a superior motor to the F, although the DOHC cappuccino F is a petty cool motor. Weren't all of Kymbo's problems fuel pressure related? My experience of the f motors is they're pretty tough, but yes, the turbos are the weak link as they are boosting pretty much all the time.

Ah, hadn't thought of that. Hmm- it's a common swap for LJ's in Japan- must be an easy way to overcome it.

My old f6 went well it pulled 14lb boost at stock which was the limit of the ECU it ran all standard 1lt running gear with 31s I used to race my missus in 2lt v6 vitara with 5.12 and 30s I would flog her up to around the 85km mark this little motor was so impressive I wish I never sold it and wish I knew where it was now !
