Post subject:  Crankshaft pulley removal ?

I am replacing the noisy timing chains on my 2001 V6 2.5 GV

I have stripped her all down (now I know why the workshop wanted a couple of grand for the job, boy there's a lot of stuff to pull off!!)
anyway, I have made a special tool to lock the crankshaft pulley in place and now I am ready to undo the retaining nut.
My question is: Before I start giving myself a hernia in which direction do I start to undo it ?? I don't want to be putting all my energy into tightening it when I want it loosened.

Do I try and turn the nut clockwise or anti clockwise ?

Cheers

(I looked in my workshop manual and they must assume I know what I am doing because there are no instructions as to what direction :-) )

It's just a normal right hand thread, so undo is anti-clockwise
