Hey guys,

i have a lwb 1 liter sierra that has had the baleno conversion with 5 speed and 1.3 transfer along with nt diffs and wide track diffs.

This is how i bought the car and recently i have noticed when i went to change my rear diff i found the rear drive shaft is really hard up against the diff. To remove it to get my third member out i had to have a hammer in one hand have the rear wheels chocked and use my legs to push the transfer case forward and give it a good wac to get it to come out

To my understanding for this to happen it would seem who ever did the conversion they have mounted the transfer incorrectly as in its too far back. my main concern is what is happening when im flexing out or having a big load in the car the amount of pressure having the front diff tring to push the drive shaft back into the transfer.

so if any one would happen to know the dimensions that i need as far as i was thinking i would need:
1. how much of the drive shaft rear spline should be showing when the car is just sitting unloaded.
2.if i could get dimensions of where it should be mounted on the frame all together would be good so i can just cut all brackets off and start again.

currently the front drive shaft is easy to get out but i wonder what will happen if i move it forward so far to get the rear in the correct position. also if anyone could think of any other reason as to why, maybe its the difference in nt to wide track difs and their mounting points

alternatively if someone has done the same conversions on their sierra and would be able to bring their sierra round or ill come to you, would be a great help. i am in runcorn,qld 4113

for anyone else that has the same sort of problem i found its because he has used the stock tail shaft from the 1 liter, which is to long because it is to suit the 1l trasfer.

am getting my rear drive shaft shorten to fix all my hassles.

One litre and 1.3 transfers are dimensionally identical.
