Hi guys.
What I am wondering is if it is worth upgrading my alternator in my vitara? Or if. I should just get it rebuilt.
Its a 1994 LWB Vitara (G16B) with what I assume to be the standard alternator...
It currently is not running anything that isn't stock... But it will soon be getting a list of mods.

These being:
2x 100watt spotties (wired to their own switch)
2x 55-80watt driving lights (not 100% settled on this yet, but again wired to their own switch)
Aftermarket head unit
Active slimline sub
And the two head lights/high beams

It already has a dual battery set up in it with a decent sized deep cycle battery in it if that helps...

I would fit a falcon alternator over a Suzuki alternator regardless of use. There are no disadvantages.

Thanks for the advice mate. I was thinking of doing it, but mainly didn't know if I am capable of doing it haha. I'm only capable of basic mechanics and I have no idea with electronics haha.

If you can remove the standard alternator and drill a hole, you can install a falcon alternator.

On top of that, you also need to be able to join a few wires, use a grinder, and possibly sketch a line.

The vit alt bracket may need a bit of material ground away.
Also the top sliding alt bracket needs a bit of grinding, helps if you sketch on it what needs to be removed.

Its very easy.

Alright thanks guys, I think I should be able to do all that haha.
Next question... Is there any difference between the 100amp el alternator and a 110 amp fairmont ghia? Besides the obvious difference of 10amp, are they physically the same to install? The extra 10 amp doesn't really seem worth the extra money to me thats all.

Physically identical. Just fit whichever you find in best condition at a wreckers.

Ive got a mate who has a low k el he is wrecking and said I could have the alternator for $50 along with any of the wiring I need so I will probably grab the fuse box and the wiring that goes with it

The 100a and 110a falcon alternators are physically identical. There is no difference from an installation perspective, which was what the OP was asking.

I could be mistaken but don't you need the Mitsubishi brand alternator as opposed to the bosch also?
