Bought a set of Lowrange Offroad 4.57 diff gears to fit into Widetrack diffs, the pinion flanges that was on my original diff are badly worn from the oil seal. I don't want to run Speedy sleeves on them and local machine shop doesn't like the idea of welding and machining back to specs, so I bought another second hand set and they look to have more of a square cut spline and won't fit the aftermarket gears. Rang a Suzie specialist shop and asked about the spline cut types, they reckon there's only one type on Widetracks but after reading Yank sites many have stated the opposite and they can be identified by a groove in the outer edge. Bought a set from the Aussie shop and they don't even start to fit the aftermarket gear set, funny enough the 1ltr Maruti flanges fit, but don't want to run the smaller bolt size since it will be running lockers and chrome moly axles. Am I an idiot, or has people found similar issues? I've sent off a Email to Lowrange Offroad looking for answers. Nick |

Had similar issues. There are 2 distinctly different spline shapes. |

Was sort of pissed of trying to explain I needed the V cut style flanges and not the square cut style, I think they thought I was stupid and now I'll have to send the wrong ones back. Two Wide Track diffs with 3.7 gearing, one had the V cut style and the other had the square cut spline which is identified with a groove in the outer edge. How tight should pinion flanges be on the pinion shaft spline? the square cut ones were super tight to remove with a puller. Anybody tried reclaiming there worn flanges? |

run speedy sleeves they are great and no one I know has had any issues |

I had the same issue installing vit 4.6 R&P into sierra centres. Sierra flanges wouldn't fit even though the diameter and spline count was the same. Had to use the vit flanges. I agree with Tanshi, use speedie sleeves, they work well. |

i had the same problem, WT maruti diffs and getting low range offroad 4.57 R&P fitted. I ended up ordering new pinion flanges from lowrange, they have the same cut as their pinions. few extra dollars and more waiting but it worked good. |

Been a adventure trying to find a part number for the V style W/T diff flanges. Rang a local Suzie dealer and once again there not real keen on sharing the genuine flanges part number, even though they won't exchange if there the wrong ones. The square cut ones part number is 27110-56B01, i think the ones i need are 27131-56B00 from a 90JL and 91JA Samurai. Bit of a gamble to order possibly the incorrect ones, can anyone confirm the genuine part number is the one i need. Next step is to order N/T ones from Lowrange and Aussie retailers will have to miss out. Nick |
