Like the post says, I found a very good deal on a bull bar that is designed for a 2009 GV.. My question is will it be possible to fit fairly easily, with some possible modifications. I've got the equipment and ability to weld if need be..

Cheers!

Anything is possible. Very different cars though. There's going to be a lot of work in it.

When you say 'a lot' of work, are talking like, A LOT, or a lot?

A LOT. You'd need to have very good fabrication skills- the car is about as different as you could imagine.

Allright, thanks for that.

Aside from the XROX bars (shit) is there anything else around?

Uneek bars look infinitely better than the xrox bars.

Yeah, the uneek ones look better, but offer next to no protection.. for $1200 I don't really want to be welding to a brand new bullbar.

No ARB for the 1st Gen GV.
There were a couple of alloy options around - I have a TJM bar on mine & I've also seen a Bocar (might have been custom?) - neither were/are winch compatible & probably hard to find now.
There are companies around that will make from scratch, but likely to exceed your mentioned $1200.

I ended up finding an alloy TJM bar for $220 from a wreckers.. I'd prefer steel but it'll definitely do the job. :)

FTS, Calmini

Don't get put off by the postage as while it will be expensive it will still work out to around the same yet a little cheaper to get a bar shipped from overseas, stupid isn't it.

It was quite a lot cheaper when our $$ was at parity with the us, now it would probably be close but still under the price of a new bar from anywhere here in aus

The gv calmini bar isn't ADR compliant due to the pedestrian slicing uprights.

'99 GV won't have airbags or ABS unless it was a "limited" in black or white (with gold badges) so custom options are doable, as long bar sort of follows the shape of the car & doesn't have sharp & sticky outty bits.
Well done on finding a TJM alloy bar - they seem to be fairly sought after.
