Post subject:  Dual fuel tanks, lwb sierra

Im getting ready to put a efi motor in my lwb sierra,
im thinking if i can squeeze a small factory efi tank in next to my driveshaft to run as my main tank,
then run the stock sierra rear mounted tank as a sub tank with a transfer pump.

Id imagine daihatsu sirion, Centro, mira ect and similar cars would have compact tanks

Has anyone done this or looked into it..
or know of a compact narrow efi ready tank?

I like the idea of not carrying jerry cans any more
Cheers

Seeing your skills in your build i can't see why you couldn't build one to suit?

Use a efi vitara in tank pump and sensor unit a few breathers and baffling bingo and if you're dead keen on long range with no Jerrys lwb vit tank in place of the stocker. Nearly doubles your current capacity straight away??

Have a look at a corolla tank.

I had one from a 92 model from memory that sat up relatively neatly in the back of my SWB.

Might be able to use a factory trackback sierra tank. They mount sideways between the tailshaft and passengers chasis rail, IIRC they're the same as a normal sierra fuel tank but with the inlet in a different place. Might be able to use a jimny tank too

I want to avoid running extra wieght behind the axle hence not going with a vit tank to replace the stock one..
i have a jimny tank to play with, hopefully that might work as its got the fuel pump in it too..
i figure if i can get the jim tank to fit... great, or another efi tank for under 100 bucks, great..
but if its going to be more than that id say i will make a tank to fill the gap in a similar fashon to jdk81 did..
