Hey all, any help would be greatly appreciated - we have busted the rear diff centre of our 2003 manual Jimny. From what I can find this is a 4.09 ratio...is this correct?

What replacement options do we have...are any other model diff centres able to go in, or does it have to be the 4.09 ratio?

The 4.09 diff is unique to Jimnys so your best option is from a 99 to 2004 Jimny. Manual Jimnys from 2005/2006 onwards (with VVT engines) have 4.3 centres.

Someone else maybe able to chime in about what the autos had. I have read they had 4.09 as well but not sure if that is consistent through the years.

It has to be the 4.09:1 ratio - unless you replace the front diff as well with the same new ratio as the rear.

All autos are 4.1.

Also WT marutis had the 4.1 ratio and they don't break like jimnys, but they're very rare.

So if the auto jimny rear diff is a 4.1 ratio we should be able to use one of those if we can't track down a non-vvt manual one?
