HOLY CRAP the zuk has a mind of its own. im getting reallg bad death wobbles in my zook it happens at about 40kmh-50kmh i can sometimes accelerate out of it, but i usually have to pull over i put a 2 inch lift in it last night. yes everything is tight.
Help please

your swivel hub seals are worn
your king pins may not be at correct pre load
your steering stabiliser may be loose / broken
your u bolts may be loose

the lift doesnt cause it, its the weight of the springs and stiffness of the bushes that move the harmonic point of the wobble into the driving range

the front springs could be rooted,mine where and i got huge death vibe's through mine

worn wheel bearings could also contribute.

I've had this problem with all my zooks... ahh the fun.

make sure ya got good or new bushes, a good steering dampner, and check ya wheel bearings.

i think it mite be the swivel hub seal. where are the kingpins? everything else is ok.

kingpins are the bearings the hubs steer on, they are under the caps on the swivels

cant remember the specs now but its in the manual in the downloads section

i jest redid all my bearings, didn't tension kingpins and it seems fine. are u using same tyres. could be outta balance

yeah same wheels and tyres. extended shackles and shocks are all the same too.. only things new are springs and bushes

i just checked the steering dampner and it works great on way but when i push it in it moves about 2 1/2 inches before it gets any resistance. looks like ill be buying a new dampner tomorrow

hey i have the same problem to, there's no play in n e of the bearing, the wheels are balanced to!

but when i put 31's on i don't get n e wobbles at all!

TRY TAKING A SHIM OUT OF YOUR KINGPINS. WILL ADD A LITTLE PRELOAD BACK ONTO YOUR KINGPINS.THE SHIMS ARE UNDER THE KINGPIN CAPS. MY HUBBY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND THIS FIXED IT.

I am in the same boat, brand new springs, got the wheels balanced and checked the bolts everywhere and they are crazy at around 60kms and sometimes you can push past them but most the time you have to stomp down to arouns 30kms and hour (pretty dangerous!) they also go away when I put my mates 30''s on there.

Any miracle cures or solutions to this problem yet????

my miracle cure is scraper seals, if it definatly doesnt do it with your mates 30's (at any other speed) then look at your rims and tires, difference in weight or offset can do it

or moving the steering stabiliser down onto the diff like a hilux works good too

You say you have new springs , this would of changed your kingpin angle if they are lifted springs , also your kingpin bearings , if notchy will cause it, also wider rims , plus a combination of steering box play , loose or worn drag link and ball joints , plus a worn steering dampner , I had this problem , so I moved it down to the diff and used a 80 series dampner , driving at 110 on the freeway , no vibration and steers perfectly , cheers Paul

Is moving the steering dampner to the diff a big job or an expensive one? also is the steering kit the same as the return to centre steering kit that's on ebay?

I have just bought a set of 31s but I need to fit a body lift first so can I just assume it will be right with the bigger wheels on it or will it come back to bite me on the arse later on?

Had the same problem in mine, this isn't so much a solution but mine were really bad at 50-70 kms and I ended up replacing the front wheel bearings and hubs and still got them, they didn't go away until I bought 4 new tyres. Had no wobbles for a few weeks but just recently they started to surface again but are very minimal. Hope this can be of some help if you are running out of solutions

watch that your sway bar is not jammed against your steering dampner the hangers arent long enough for a 2 inch lift.
