Driving Wilbinga over the weekend and I kept hearing skkff sskkkff everywhere. took me a while to figure it though...
(ill put up some photos and clips)

2" tough dog kit with 215" A/T tyres and ARB front bar.
Prior to last weekend, had no issues with scrubbing, except for the odd technical track.
Went camping, so had swag, and gear in the back.. maybe 100kg, me and the misses, another 100kg.

This thing was ridiculous......
every pot hole, every hill decent.. small rocks.. arrgghh!!
I requested a heavier front spring from Tough Dog dealer when I ordered them but they said, nah standard is all sweet.

I could really use some advice on this one because I'm taking it directly to Tough Dog because at the moment, I cant camp out.

Is this rubbing common amongst Jimnys?
Should I request front spring from 3" kit?
Go fast tape some timber wedges in?
Blow torch the springs and stretch them?
Or go all out and ask Tough Dog to swap them?

Cut your guards or extend your bumpstops. Suspension lift doesnt fit bigger tyres

Where is it scrubbing ? As monley stated suspension lift has no reall effect except at rest.
I would think you should be able to get 215s to fit pretty easy.
Any chance it's rubbing on the shocks?
I have no experience with Jim's , but I have heard this is a problem on the front end of pajeros sometimes with the realt fat shocks.

Ill do a bit of investigating but I like the sound of extending bump stops, I can only imagine theres a thread here somewhere.

The rear bump stops are easy to extend you can even buy spacers from arb that suit a XL-7 (from memory) that are 25mm. The front is a diffrent story however as the factory ones "push in" and probaly cant be taken out with out breaking the little runbber lip that holds them in place. Tennis balls have been used befoe sitting inside in the front coil but often dont last that long. Only other optoin might be some fab work

Yes done a swing in darwin already but hurt my back on r+r so sitting at home on sick leave atm

Someone said in another thread that arb gives less clearance than the stock bar. Might be worth taking a grinder to it

Hey like Vet said the rubbing might be on the ARB Bar. I got a 50mm EFS lift on a 2013 jimny with Bfg 215 AT Tyres and no bullbar and I don't get any scrubbing when loaded up for camping. I too have heard that the ARB Bars can cause scrubbing but I didn't think it would be as bad as you're describing though.

that sucks about the back, advanced palates are the way to go.

once the weather clears up, ill spend some time starring at them until
the best option appears. I might go to Kwinana on the w.e loaded up do see
wear the danger spots are.

uhhh yet to look at the existing, but I see multiple lengths available, if suitable..
I guess I would need to bottom out each tyre and check the remaining travel to each bump stop
to get the suitable new length.
