Tyre machine is much easier

Good job though, I've used tyre levers but never a rubber mallet. How did you go with blowing up? Did the beads seat easy enough?

Tyre machine in the bush? I've got tyre plyers and levers. I carry a tube just in case. Usually seat ok , take out the valve to get max air flow. worked in a servo many moons ago, was also a xxx xxxx tyre/mart. have fitted 1000's of tyres.

BF Goodrich tyres are no harder than any other.. If you know what you are doing you can fit a tyre without tyre levers or a mallet as long as you have a movable vehicle.

So whats the trick in removing the old tyre.
I have been given a set but the tyres are shot so I want to remove them and tidy up the rims.
I have broken the beads and have one side off the rim but the inside is a barstard to get out. Whats the trick?

PUT THE TIP OF THE TYRE LEVER IN BETWEEN THE RIM AND BEAD AND PULL IT UP, THEN BELT TYRE BEAD WITH MALLET. EASY TO DO, HARD TO EXPLAIN. MAY POST A FLICK NEXT WEEKEND IF I HAVE THE TIME.

I JUST MARK WHERE THE WEIGHTS ARE IN CASE I KNOCK ONE OFF. JUST GLUED A PATCH ON INSIDE. SO SHOULD'NT CHANGE BALANCE.
