Evening all, had a browse of the forums but can't find anything as I can't be specific enough with my searches.

Majority of the time, when I go to put the zook into revers, it's as if the gear were spinning forward already, (even if I've just started the car) and I have to hold the gear stick down into reverse, until the 'gear' slows to a stop, then engages.. Issue seems to be even worse when I'm in low 4. Is there a fix? Something wrong?

Hoping it's not a clutch issue, but the dealer that I bought the car from gave me $500 warranty on the clutch for a few years.

From what I'm reading on google, it may not be an issue, but it just seems to be a little excessive for 'something that just happens'.

My jimny grinds into reverse when rolling forward at all and will sometimes not engage until I start to release the clutch, just a normal thing for most manuals I am told

The clutch might need adjusting, would try that first. Shouldnt need to slow down the gears by using force. (Holding gear stick in R position) it should go relatively easy/quick

How would I go about adjusting the clutch? I assume there would be a guide or something along those lines somewhere here?

For hydraulic actuated clutches this is a symptom of a worn clutch as hydraulic clutches are self adjusting.
Could also be a seized/draggy spigot bearing in the flywheel giving the input shaft a bit of spin even with the clutch in.

There is no synchromesh on reverse gear
If the car is rolling forward at all it will always be crunchy.

The clutch cable can be adjusted. The saddle nut on my serria somehow comes loose over a year, and a few winds by hand, all good for another year,,,

At what point in the clutch travel does the clutch "take up" - near the floor? Is it also difficult to select first gear from a standstill (not necessarily grinding) or downshifting (third to second)?

On the GV a worn clutch will cause the grinding into reverse, along with the other symptoms mentioned above - other than that clutch drag, either because of a binding pilot shaft bearing, contaminated clutch linings or a clutch disk binding on the splines.

Anyway you twist & turn it, it sounds like the box has to come out.

Make sure ya not moving when you shift to reverse, put it into first then straight to reverse. Give that a shot
