I have a 92 sierra sj70 with a g13ba. The 5 speed seems to be leaking oil and it's soaking the rear transmission mount. It seems like it could be the output shaft seal. Although I read it is dry in the rear case. Where else should I be checking? It is transmission fluid for sure. Do i need to remove the transmission to be able to troubleshoot this? I checked out the FSM but it looks like a little bit of work if i have to get the transmission out. I'm going to have to pull it out aren't I? |

Gearbox output seal can be done with the box in the car still. May have to unbolt Tcase to move it over slightly to get jackshaft out. |

If you do have to remove transmission it isnt that hard if you put a notch in the crossmember to drop it down. |

Overfilling the gearbox will cause it to leak as well. |
