Taking the front suspension out of a coily, the bottom bolts (where the shock/spring mounts to the diff) was seized in/bent, had to grind/drill the bolts out and wait 4 weeks for the bloody bushed to arrived after that.

I did a snow trip a few weeks ago and broke my exhaust just begind the cat... Coming out in 2 peices was easy.... Getting it back in in 1 bit was a nightmare! Had to jack up the front as far as the jack would go then had to drop the engine mount ratchet strap it over as far as it would go then it wouldn't go so had to drop the oil and oil filter!!!!! Then kayden ( my 10 year old son)helped me lift the back up to get it to sit right on the block.... A couple more bolts and its done but that can wait till tomorrow! |

Driver's side CV in a GV without a stubby mod. Followed closely by taking out the front diff in a GV with a J20 sump. I feel agitated just thinking about it. |

electrical gremlins is probably what grinds my gears the most. Blink is still having issues with the flasher can. |

Haha, for me taking my motor out to do my rear main seal and any other oil seep's I had. Getting the 4 torque converter bolts undone was a nightmare. Having to take the front diff out to do so, and get the motor out does my head in suzuki!

It is the jobs that should be simple but turn into nightmares... For me it was being unable to remove the transfer filler plug and the gearbox drain plug. Searched the city for half a day trying to find a plug removal tool only to find it was just as useless. a close second: after removing the wheel bearings on the Jimny I was too keen pressing the new ones on. Forgot to put the retaining plate on first...

It's all so fiddly and being under the dash is a pain to get to. Give me a big part to change in the engine and I'll be happy as! Get me to find out why one blinker is blinking faster then the other without grounding issues or bulbs blown.. I will not be a happy Chappy. Haha. Great fun though! |

Good to know I'm not the only one! The plot thickens though tonight I got home just had to put the 3 extra exhaust mounts in and tighten the bolts into the head! Easy as.... Wrong!!!! Tightening the last bolt felt a bit weird so backing it out and it snaps! So then had to rip my second battery, battery tray charcoal canister out and drill and tap a thread! Then I had a sinking feeling and ripped the rocker cover off to have a squiz and make sure I didn't go too far( was way off thank god) BUT its done now I guess.... |

Doing my front control arm bushes on the vit, lhs front bolt was seized in the crush tube, had to cut out the rubber/bolt while in chassis. Wasn't hard just a pain in the arse. A week after doing a body lift, doing the usual bolt tension check.....did 11/12 fine, last one turned 1/4 turn then snapped. The body bolts are welded to the floor and have a female nut. Result- cut a hole in the floor, cut the bolt out and weld in a new one. All thanks to mick^^^^ legend! |

The one that always gets me is trailer plugs, I have spent a whole day trying to get it to work, 're checked and been 100% sure I had it right only to find out there was a problem with a break in the wire on the cars side. |

Good trick is to grease the crush tunes. It won't happen again. |

A job I would really like to forget ever happened stephen I can beat that,not the Coily but a VN Holden on the Pacific H/way between Grafton and Ballina in the 1990's.Driving back from Sydney half-asleep in the early hours,drivers window down at the top,large white bird hit the windows and was sucked into the cabin in pieces,splattered everywhere,seats,dash,steering wheel,roof lining and me.Took hours to clean everything up and weeks before the smell went. Moral is to always drive with your windows up. |

ouchh. i had a possum stuck in the door card of my GQ. Dont know how the little fella got in there, but after a few weird noises and banging coming from the door card i realised something was stuck inside. slowly opened it up to find the little possum. needless to say he made a quick getaway. |

Timing chain for a H25a when the engine is in the car is up there. To get to the oil pump so much has to come off. Just getting the intake off at the start is frustrating however it was made worse that the engine was tilting back due to the gearbox cross member not installed at the time. |

Frankenzook was borrowed by well lubricated mates, and left on another farm for me to retrieve after it "broke down" Turned out that "broke down" meant they were chasing foxes across the furrows - vibrations made the oil bath air cleaner fall off - the magazines for the .22 were lost overboard, so the driver ran the fox down Bits of fermenting fox were stuck everywhere - with enough icky bits inside the carb and inlet manifold to stall the mighty F8. stephen |

Full plug on a transfer case that was fitted in a car park in Darwin in 43 degree heat. Neer actually got it out and took me a couple of hours heaving as a hard as I could to realise it can be filled through the top. Surprisingly changing transfers in a carpark really wasn't that much of a pain. |

Getting the gear and transfer levers bent properly after the body lift so they didn't foul on the body. I still hold it down in 2nd and 4th gears. |

1999 GV SQ625 Pulling apart the pedal shaft, to lubricate what I thought was a squeaky clutch pedal action - getting the return spring, spacer washers, holes , shaft all to line up & go back together - only to then find that the squeak was inside the bell housing. That stayed as a squeak for another 8 years before eventually replacing the clutch! |
