Hey all I am currently installing a G16a into a Sierra to replace the g13a.

Can you run the g16a pickup in the g13 sump or is it too short / pickup depth not sufficient?

Thanks all. Trying to leave the pickup unaltered if possible. Currently trimming out the windage tray in the g13 sump to retrofit.

You may be able to use the vitara sump, and vitara oil pick up, unmodified.
Im not sure how you will go for diff clearance

Just use the common modified sierra sump (some baffles removed) and hybrid sierra g16 oil pickup. It is the tried and tested method which works.

The engine we had supplied had a spacer collar that sits inside the G16 pickup hole to utilise the G13 pipe pickup with an oring. Had to cut the existing support bracket off and silver solder it in its new location on number 3 cap. Removed parts of the windage tray to suit the pickup. A lot of people cut this out completely but its in there for a reason, so I kept as much of it as I could. I will upload some photos to show the windage tray and what I cut out to clear the pickup.
