Hi guys, trying my luck here because I don't wanna get ripped off by some incompetent mechanics.
One thing at a time:
1) Nearly every morning the SLIP light is ON on the dashboard. After I drive few seconds it goes off. I already know it's related to the calibration of the steering angle sensor. At the dealership they told me they tried to calibrate it unsuccessfully but it looks like it is fine after I drive the car and it calibrates. Their mechanics suggested me to replace it but it looks strange to me that it happens only when the car stays off overnight. When I stop it in the morning at work and I start it in the afternoon it doesn't happen. Is it possible that the battery is dying and the power drops in the morning when I start the car requiring to recalibrate the sensor? Any other idea before throwing 500 bucks to a mechanic to replace it?

2) This is a very weird situation. The ignition light comes on, regularly, when I'm driving at constant speed, let's say with the cruise control on, and I hit a hill. It mostly happens when I am over 80kph but lately it started happening even at slower speed, always while going uphill or pushing it a bit harder then usual. The car drives normally, no power loss or difference at all, just the light comes on and, from what they say at the dealership, there is no error recorded on the ECU. I know that light means a lot of different issues but I'm out of guess. I don't have much time unfortunately so I would like to have a bit of knowledge before taking it to another mechanic, I don't want to get ripped off from someone who starts changing parts and trying. Any ideas??

Thanks in advance and sorry if my post is a bit too long.

I have heard of another GV having electrical gremlins that seemed to be caused by a weak main battery, dealer should be able to test this.

Yeah mate, I've heard of that too and that's why I was upset when, at the dealer, they stated I had to replace the steering angle sensor, they didn't even look at the battery levels.
I bought a cheap odb2 interface and I'll have a look myself it it works if I can pull out some info.

For the other problem of the ignition light I don't really know what it could be, you reckon a weak battery can cause those sort of glitches or it must be something else? In my opinion could be the exhaust temperature sensor or something wrong in the fuel filter but at the dealership they said the error should be recorded if it is a faulty sensor and instead there is nothing on the ecu for what they say.

Edit: here in Wollongong NSW the Suzuki dealer is part of Subaru and Jeep dealership, they are all together but it looks like they started just recently to sell Suzuki. I had the impression I knew more than them when I took the car to have it scanned, very disappointed.

Today the red baby is in the (hopefully) capable hands of a mechanic and he'll let us know what in his opinion is wrong with the car. I'm done with dealerships, I don't like their attitude nor their customer service, they are money makers and that's the end of it.
