Can anyone point me into the right direction of what wires on the back of the speedo cluster/plug go to the check engine light and tacho?
Connecting my GTI harness, I have all the wires hooked up but these two. Couldn't find a pin out or anything.

Like always, any help is much appreciated! I could be looking at this the complete wrong way.

Tacho is a brown wire.

AFAIK Check engine light has to be retrofitted.

Check engine light is already in the cluster, it's just not hooked up.

Nope. They're in a tachometer equipped nt cluster too.

Thanks for that about the tacho,
So how would I go about hooking it up to the check engine light? Any ideas?

I reckon it's been covered on here a few times. You'll need to be able to solder to the tracks on the back of the cluster.

Interesting, the one I bought didn't have a CEL light and I had to cut in the the CEL part from my donor baleno.

I'm with blkfxx on this one , the two I did , did not not have the light or the symbol etched in the cluster . It did have tracks on the circuit card that were able to be used thou in what I expect would have been used on the clusters equiped with one . I did a write up and phot by photo of one I did but its on an old NZ forum , I will see if I can find it again .

Basicaly I cut out the symbol from a vitara cluster and glued it on the back of a suitable spare spot in the NT cluster after checking the spot could be feed with power . Then adding the pin to the harrnes and the buld to the cluster . Sure there are better ways to do it thou .

Ah- my bad. There are blank positions in the idiot light strip for check engine in NT, but no symbol. WT has the symbol I recall. I was thinking of provision for VSS which all NT and WT have.
