I need some advice. My Clutch is on its' last legs and I'm thinking of swapping to a heavier duty version.

I'm also going to do the work myself but am wondering if the easiest way is to drop the gearbox. I know this will mean in my M13A motored Jimny that I'll have to detach the remote shift linkage. Apart from that I'm open to comments on best plan of action.

I'm also interested in other owner's heavy duty clutch experiences and brand/suppliers.

Oh yeah, I'm no professional mechanic obviously but do 95% of my own work.

for outright quality and reliabilaty go daikin/exedy. other brand h/d clutches may be cheaper, but won't go the distance or have a good pedal feel.

Any idea of the main differences between the EXEDY Heavy Duty Kit and the Heavy Duty 'Button' Kit?

I think I'll stick to HD without the buttons.

for the jimny only the standard exedy tough clutch is available noneof the button ones

Just picked up me new HD Exedy clutch today for $315 from Carters Clutch in East Maitland.
I got quoted $350 and $360 everywhere else.
