silly question No.375 Has anyone put a 2L vitara motor in a Sierra, like is it very complex and not worth doing? Does the firewall and transtunnel need modifying? Do you use the matchig gearbox/transfer, and so is the front shaft a pain to set up? (custom shafts are ok). Would the Sierra diffs take the load or is that redicluous? Intended for fast stuff, not rockcrawling. I have some hilux diffs here that i can use. any advice would be appreciated. |

j20a ? has been done in that big purple coily, wrxzook or whatever it is on outerlimits. looks like there was a bit of custom work to the trans tunnel and what not. |

aerenandmel off this forum, its his dad that owns the coily with 35s and j20a etc.Another mate from town is halfway through fitting one in his sierra with the standard j20 gbox etc and is modding the tunnel to suit.He was going to go the v6 but decided for the headaches and extra money the power gain with the v6 wasnt going to be enough. What exactly are the specs on the 2??will it be regoed if you go ahead? |

My old man has a 2.4 ltr v6 in his sierra with a vit auto. A lot of transtunnel work and money and he now drives it on the road. O and a fj40 landcruiser radiator. I wish he would harden up and race it. |

P.S the trans tunnel mods would be pretty much the same for any one who has fitted a vit gear box i would have thought and there are 1000s of those. |

Definitely Mr Joe , I think i spent more money trying to do it on the cheap before i realised it was a false economic plan. Now I only spend money on general maintenance and bling or if I make a mistake and tear the flares off..
Steve go the V6, we know you can do it , it needs to be done. No pressure though.. |
