Post subject:  Help with wiring up a switch on suzuki sierra

Hey,
I have found a few posts on this and other sites relating to wiring up spotlights on Suzuki Sierra. I have wired up spotties so they work on/off when high beam is activated, they also can be switched off using led toggle switch so high beam can be used with or without spotties on.

Problem is when spotties are switched on the led light doesn't light up to indicate spotties are on.
Also when you dip the high beam with spotties switched on, the spotties switch off as well. (that's all good so far) but then the led light is alight but very dull. This means I don't quite have is right can someone help me out with a solution.
Thanks in advance.
David

The LED needs a ground of it's own. Make sure you have a good one.

Hi,
I didn't mention I am using a narva illuminated switch (the long rectangular one) it has 4 pins on back I have used 2 +ve and one -ve for earth. it is earthed to pipe running across car under dash.

Cheers
David

PS I think issue has something to do with the -ve switching set up on zuks.

first work out how the switch works, some of them have 2 pins to be switched and the other 2 pins are positive and negative for the illumination, this is to allow you to wire it up to your dash lights or whatever

if this is how its done then hook your switch wires through like normal so the lights work but the switch light doesnt light up at all then with your remaining pins hook one to earth anywhere and the other run a wire back to your relay and wire up to the output that goes to the lights
