Hey guys and gals,
So I got the body off the parts car after nearly killing myself with it a couple of times (this part was no fun and I'm a bit put off doing it again!
So just a reminder her car is a registered convertible carby/auto car and the parts car is Baleno dizzy motor with AW4, parts car is hardtop and hers is convertible.
I read that the cross members for the gearboxes are different but from my measurements the cross members seem to bolt up in the same place so now I'm thinking it would be slightly easier to just bolt up all the mechanicals into her chassis rather than swap bodies as her car is already registered.
So my main question is are there differences between where the gearbox cross members bolt up or are they the same as my measurements suggest? After the drama's I had lifting the body of the parts car by myself I'm not really keen to do the same with the good body. I don't mind having to weld a new fuel filter mount onto the chassis but don't want to be welding in new cross member mounts as this could be easily stuffed up.
I can see the older body will require some of the brackets for the air filter etc. to be changed over (that seems simple enough) but I'm starting to worry what other differences there may be between the 2 bodies that could cause problems.
