Post subject:  Chassis end Radius arm bushes at the rear axle end
Rear axle end Radius arm bushes are split, I've only got OEM chassis end bushes, any one tried fitting the solid ones on the rear axle end?

M15A, HD clutch and 29" tyres so they'll cop a bit more stress the stock

Radius arms are in the front. Upper and lower control arms are in the rear.

There is only one arm each side, so no uppper/lower, though I know the setup you mean.

The arm bushes at the chassis end are solid, the axle ends aren't. What are people's thoughts on fitting solid bushes at the axle ends as well?

in race/road cars i love solid mounting/rose jointing everything, in an offroad vehicle which is subject to a lot more shock forces (bouncing over things, up things, off things etc) the compliance in the rubber stops metal things cracking/breaking ie diff housings and chassis mount points.

I've had my head under too many Landcruisers.

A lot of the flex you get out of suspension comes from the flex in the bushes. Solid bushes are probably going to limit flex somewhat

Plus with a radius arm rear end they do allot more then the average suspension bush. Controlling M15 lanuches, then being soft enough to flex and then combining a little bit of roll stiffness. This is spread over 4 close together bushes. Where as 80/most other coil bootys are 8 really spread apart bushes.

They wear quickly is what im saying

Cheers mate, that's what I was thinking.
Had a 306 GTI6 before the Jimny which ate lower control arm bushes every few months. Upgraded them and the strut bearings and ball joints became the weak links ><

Nice... though never a fan of the 405. Had 205 GTI before the GTI-6.

I liked the 205 GTI more, it kept trying to kill me and made my girlfriend cry.
