So I know a lot of you have issues with transfer case mount failing so I created a little rig to stress test a couple of the cheap replacement options.
The mounts tested were:
SuziStore mount (from Suzuki India i think https://www.suzistore.com.au/four-wheel ... etail.html)
Mazda mount MT8135 (from eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/291093137481)
Land Rover engine mount (from eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/252343972122)
BMW E12 E21 E30 23711109173 320i 323i Gearbox Transmission Mount (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BMW-E12-E21- ... rcoNnkaOfQ)
BMW E36 E46 E39 Gear Box Mount (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/252355496926 ... EBIDX%3AIT)
Stock 1l mount (I think that is what it is anyway)

This is the rig I made to test how far and how much stress the mounts will take. The large bolt stretches the mount until it fails, I used a torque wrench to measure the stress.

Results:
SuziStore mount:
Stretched from 28mm to 70mm (total stretch 42mm)
Broke at 16Nm of torque

Mazda mount:
stretched from 35mm to 54mm (total stretch 19mm)
broke at 10Nm of torque

Land Rover mount:
stretched from 37mm to 138mm (total stretch of 101mm)
broke at 25Nm of torque

BMW E12 E21 E30 23711109173 320i 323i Gearbox Transmission Mount
Stretched from 33mm to 120mm
broke at 15Nm of torque

BMW E36 E46 E39 Gear Box Mount
Stretched from 33mm to 130mm
broke at 12Nm of torque

Stock 1L
Stretched from 28mm to 62mm
broke at 12Nm of torque


Notes:
From my understanding the Land Rover mount needs trimming to fit, this would probably make them weaker.
The torque measurements don't really tell you that much apart from the relative strengths of the mounts.
A sample size of 1 isn't very good.
different suppliers probably sell different quality mounts.
I know my welding isn't very good.
I would like to test a stock mount, but i don't have any spares... would anybody like to donate one?

Mine are all 100 years old and cracked i got a few early model ones that seem a little higher u can try

I prefer my TC mounts being my weak link. i rather have my mounts fail as it is an easy fix.

I think most people feel the same way mate, the problem is you also don't want that weak link to be too weak. From my readings most people think the aftermarket replacement mounts are too weak so I'm trying to find one that is stronger than the SuziStore mount but not as strong as the Land Rover mount also i would like the mount to not require trimming, not stretch too far and be relatively cheap. I thought the "BMW E12 Gearbox Transmission Mount" was going to be a winner but it was no stronger than the SuziStore mount :(

yeah fair enough. i always have a spare mount in the car but i have once had to drive home with the TC having 1 mount and a ratchet strap. so i see your point.

The main issue with the aftermarket replacement Suzuki transfercase mounts is the bond between the rubber and metal. They simply part under very little tension. Looks like you tested a good one where the rubber actually tore instead of parting from the metal.

Just cruzins mounts are decent i never had any issues
