Im after some advise on power steering I have a vitara pump running a pajero gearbox and either one of the units is faulty or the setup needs tweaking. I pulled apart a Pajero PS pump and it looks very similar to the Vit one but unfortunately different enough that I couldnt use it. Any clues on how I can boost the power of the vit one? |

Tweak the pump- normally pressure can be increased. |

How much work to fit the pajero box up? This is mostly talking about other pumps but they are still tweaking power steering set ups: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/general- ... -flow.html |

been searching how to tweak the pumps but have been unsuccessful. I read an article last year about taking the fitting out with the wire on it and putting a washer under the spring but that did nothing. Any other ideas or pics of how to tweak these pumps would be great |

Any other ideas or pics of how to tweak these pumps would be great When I was looking for a bracket and pump (so that I could keep AC and run power steer at the same time) I found that there is a Yank company that sells a bracket to use Toyota Celica pumps or similar. Obviously the issues with buying this setup is cost and availability of the pumps (they seem hard to find online here in Aus) They cite better performance than the Zook pumps. Maybe that could be enough "power" for your Paj power steering box? Edit: It's "Rocky Road Outfitters" that praise the Toyota pump (and box as well, although that fact is irrelevant to us). |

I'm not sure that will help at all- how is the steering when revs are circa 3K? if it's fine, then a smaller pulley will reduce the revs the steering is OK at, but if the steering is still inadequate at 3K the the pump isn't providing sufficient flow or pressure. Steve. |
