Pretty simple, my 97 is worth barely 3,500 according to most insurers, but market value is 6k for a matching vehicle, that's if you can even find air con. + $3k of work. I'm looking to insure for around $10k, but most insurers won't even dream about it. So who are you guys with? Shannon, just car, DGA? |

^^ agreed. I wish I could full comp my 98 jimny, but it's only worth $3400 "apparently". So third party fire and theft it is. |

1,635 for ac as a optional extra, which makes it a accessory. Private price varies from $2,800 - $4,400 to $3,400 - $5,000 if you argued it was worth 5 k plus the accessories including ac you could stretch it to 10 k. bottom line is in 3-4 years of paying for insurance you would have a new car, and most insurers won't cover you for off road damage anyway |

Try Club 4x4 (1800 258 249) or www.club4x4.com.au My 1999 GV SQ625, previously insured with RACV for agreed value of $3350 (market value was $2600 according to them!!) cost $492.72 - after their various 'years of membership, multi policy discount' BS was applied. Club 4x4 let me have agreed value of $4650 on the vehicle, plus $10000 of accessories & modifications = total insured value is $14650. listed as 'business use' which added a little bit, but the 12 month premium is $611.02 - more than happy with that. No, I don't work for them & I've only had this policy since Dec. last year & not made a claim, so not sure how it will all go, if I did. Rgs, Michael |
