Hey guys,

I'm chasing knowledge or a service manual for EGC31S Baleno. Is it the same pin outs on the ECU as the pack over plug coils or completely different with the stand alone coils please?

Thanks.

Pete.

There are 3 -4 different pinout configurations within the baleno coilpack family of motors

Ok, so I've got one of the manuals at home, I should roughly be close to where I need to be? I'll trace it back. That's good then. Thanks for that Michael.

Yeah i've done a few Vitara ones now, I'm just hoping the Baleno diagram I have already will be close enough to the one we have.

I've got a 4 coilpack one which i'm hoping is not too distant to the coil on plug.

No distributor.

The coilpacks are at the end of the head, which will be moved to another location when it's in the Sierra.

coilpacks are mounted at the rear, which i'm happier about as i can get them away from the heatsoak in the sierra.

Behind glovebox is that's anything different. it's a 1998 Baleno Mystique.

Has 1 daffodil sticker.

AHUH!
There's your problem!

You are missing a daffodil sticker

Just hack out what you dont need, and transplant the rest.
Keep all the loom for reference and you will know where they all go and which ones are needed.

Not unusual. There's 3 different baleno motors. Distributor at back of head, coil pack on back of head, and the coil on plug style which has the coil packs on the valve cover.

These are the ecu i normally do the looms for
Im gunna say the coil at rear of head configuration would be less than 15% in balenos at least in west oz.
As long as you have the correct pinouts then you cant go wrong

Cheers guys. Yeah I'll go through it on the weekend and start pulling out the harness and have a look. Got the Vitara ones down pat and I've written down the special pinouts, I've found 1 baleno pinouts so I'll just go from there.
