Hey guys

Need a bit of advice. Have a LJ80 that I'm doing up. It's currently got a 4K engine with, what I believe, is the original Suzuki carb.

The issue is that the carb cover fouls on the bonnet.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a fix? I was thinking a 'remote' air cleaner with some piping up to the carb? Any ideas would be great!

Got any pics? The standard LJ80 carb is a sidedraft and the airfilter is mounted on the drivers side guard. Bonnet clearance is a common problem with 4K conversions.

Sure! If LJ's were side draft, this doesn't look like an LJ!

Looks Toyota to me, but I haven't looked at a 4K in a good 15 years. Can you make a coustom hat and run a 1.3 or a 1ltr air box?

I've got a parts car, another 80 with the stock engine. The guy who owned it prior is pretty much a Zook but. He's running Motorbike carbs. Runs beautifully. Might try that set up on this one

That's going to be hard, unless you can find/make a manifold to suit
