Hey guys
Bombarding with questions now. Sorry in advance! So I've bought a new set of bushings for the LJ80 and plan to pull out the springs, clean them up and mod the packs somewhat to get max flex. Currently running 28's, depending on how this goes I think I'll only be aiming for 30's.
Anyway, current packs are 4 leaves in the front, 6 in the back. Front shackle has a nice angle (due to a dodgy 'move the springs forward in the mount' mod). Rear shackle angle is rubbish. All springs currently have a parabola, that is, not sagged to shit and aren't flat.
What I'm thinking is moving the front springs back to their original mount and removing the smallest leaf from the pack.
The rears, I'm thinking removing the 2 load springs from the rear pack.
So I'll have a 3 leaf front pack, 4 leaf rear. Am thinking they'll flatten out a bit but that will improve the shackle angle naturally at the loss of some height. Not too worried, I'm looking for flex.
