My GV has a rrRRrr...rrRRrr...rrRRrr sound coming from the back end, so I am assuming that one of the rear wheel bearings is on it's way out.

It sounds like the RHS one, but not sure. Is that the most likely one?

It has only got just over 156,000km on it, pretty poor I recon.

I got quoted $75 for a kit for it, is that about right?

Is that non gen? do you have ABS? if you do , the tone wheel may need replacing as it is an interference fit & thay like to stay were thay are, $75`s a reasonable price. to my knowledge no one has a listing for the seal ( aftermarket that is ) . as for the KM`s, how many times have you driven on the beach or launched a boat? bearings don`t like salt water. i`ve changed rear`s in any 4by at 40 !!

156,000klms on a set of bearings is pretty good mate. It was only a few years ago you had to have the wheel bearings repacked every 40k and replaced every 80k. on Most makes of vehicles. 8O

And 75 bucks is dirt cheap if the kit is genuine, even if it's not... That is probably one of the cheaper items to replace on a GV 8)

No ABS, non genuine bearing kit price.

Never been in salt water, and driving on the beach is rare. No sand or salt should get into a rear wheel bearing anyway. My Hilux has done a lot more beach work than the zook, and is still on original bearings at just under 400,000Km. and no noise from them yet.

Kit is non genuine, supplied by Linmac, includes the lock ring & seal.

I'll grab one if you recon it's a good price.
