Hi Everyone,on my 2002 jimny the "Check engine" light comes on after engine start and stays on from between 1 and 3 minutes then goes out.Not every time i start it though. I had the mechanic check it and he says the computer says there is nothing wrong. Why is the light coming on then? I have just given the motor an oil change at 103 000 k's,the light still comes on! It is very frustrating as I dont know what to do,could someone please help me? Any and all help much appreciated, thankyou. Darryl |

If your mechanic is not using a Suzuki scan tool it is unlikely he has read the ECU properly. You should be able to ground the monitor coupler with a paper clip to get the CEL to flash the trouble code. I forget where it is in a Jimny, under the glovebox perhaps. My bet is that it is the oxygen sensor that is causing it

Hi Watermouse I took it to a different machanic and he used a scanner tool that plugged in under the steering towards the stereo. He told me the code indicates an error with "P 0135" Oxygen sensor. He then showed me where abouts in the engine bay it was located(on exhaust below manifold) If I replace just this sensor everything will be okay(I hope) Thankyou very much for your reply and the info provided, much appreciated.
