I've put a 8V head onto a 16V 1.6 block and the timing belt is too short...
I know other people have done this before... What belt did they use?
Iremember 11-EVL saying something about a Honda belt but can't remember the part number.

How short is it? Aren't the tensioner bearings different?

Tensioner roller is same OD.
Belt is "about" 60 mm or 6 teeth too short..
I could go and buy a longer one and try it but these things aren't cheap so I'd rather learn from someone elses experience.

Yes.. My old 1.3 is VERY tired.
1.6 bottom end was only $50 plus parts to rebuild.
1.3 reco'd head was $100.
So its a cheap new motor.
Benefits... Helps my wallet not die of malnutrition.

the only difference between 8 valve and 16 is the thickness, not the length.

I know for a fact that my 1.3 8V belt is too short.
I have already changed the crank pulley to suit the 1.3 8V cam pulley.

Ummm....yes.
you're 1.3 belt IS too short as the 1.6 block is taller.

the swaps i have done like that i have use vit pulleys....not sierra ones.

my above post was refering to vit belts only 16v to 8v, and not the sierra ones.
