| Post subject: | NGV Transmission cooler |
I picked up a transmission cooler for my 2.7'NGV today after putting the underbody protection on I was worried with restricted airflow over the box it might get hot towing and on the beach. When I was in the parts place I grabbed a thermo fan on clearance also. Has anybody put a transmission cooler on their NGV ? Is it worth putting the thermo fan on it seeing I have it maybe just on a toggle switch in the cabin or if need be I can get a proper thermo switch? If I can avoid it I wanted to not obstruct airflow to the radiator as much as I can. Dose anyone have and interesting locations to place the cooler that keeps the radiator as clear as possible? Thanks M |

Put a gauge on it or pull temp from OBDII before you fit a cooler you might not need. |

I had already bought it Steve. The odb scanner I have doesn't seem to collect AT temp it gets a whole heap of readings I don't understand and a few I do. This is the one I have I got it for $40 extra when I bought my awning https://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/produc ... puter.html Can anyone recomend a creepy that will show Trans temp ? The reading I had done said you can't over cool an auto trans so it was a case of better safe than sorry. I have Plumed it in downstream of the cooler in the radiator. I didn't install the thermo fan because of the weight I didn't want that hanging from the ac condenser as well as the cooler. I had to remove the ac condenser from its mounts and move it forward to get the supplied mounting kit in. Even then I managed to grate a bunch of skin from my knuckles. M |
