Excellent.. Thank you, except I don't seem to have one unless it is hidden somewhere other than the engine bay.  If I don't have one....what should I do.. Get one or just block it off or something.. I do have a spare 3rd hose coming from the fuel tank that has nowhere to go, could I join that 3rd hose to this one that is supposed to be going to the Charcoal cannister.. I believe it is just a vent for fuel vapours or would it be dangerous to join them to each other ??

Did you swap the hard fuel lines around? The larger hard line (HL) is for the pumped side, the original smallest HL is the return, and the medium HL is the tank breather. To prevent some fuel pressure issues, people often swap the medium and small HL so that the breather is the small HL and the return is he medium. Just make sure you do both ends. The vent HL connects via rubber hose to a HL which goes up and over the trans tunnel and then a short rubber hose to the charcoal cannister. The other side of the charcoal cannister is a small rubber hose that goes up along the the firewall with the loom and out approx where the dizzy used to be. Charcoal cannister is bolted on the firewall above passenger side wheel arch Personally I would connect it, either find a replacement or make another one fit. |

Good info. Thanks. No we left the HLs as they were. If I have to drop the tank to replace the fuel pump I will swap them then. So with regard to the 2 hoses...They both , breather from tank and vacuum hose, have no where to go as the Charcoal filter has been removed to put in an extra battery tray (by previous owner) and both those hoses would normally go to the charcoal canister. I think I will get another CC so I can connect it all up properly..Or is all this just a epa thing. It would be a lot easier to just block off the vac one and put the breather one next to the 3 diff breather hoses that sit side by side behind the battery.. The 2nd battery tray kind of makes it hard to fit a stock CC there anymore. |

Its a polution thing. Take a pic of your engine bay and we can tell you where itll fit. Previously i put a big 2nd battery east-west in my soft top, and moved the CC to near the washer bottle. In my tintop i moved the original battery and put the battery in the same location as above, but running north-south (parallel to the engine), and put the CC on the battery mount tray (modified the baleno battery tray). So the CC didnt move much at all. |

There is a big enough space just to the right of where the old coil used to live. I just need to track down a cheap CC. |
