Hey guys, just a quick question regarding the model of my sierra. It's an 89 wt soft top, id plate states it as a d-ute 1.3 sj50. How is it that most sj50s I have seen are nt models? I heard someone mention an 89.5 (as in year of manufacture) model and wondered if that's what mine is? I guess it's a mix of sj50 and sj70 parts cobbled together as the model was changing but I could be very wrong! Any clarification would be much appreciated! Cheers! Bronson. |

all sj70 will be WT the 88.5 WT was called an SJ50,I dont think they ever called them an SJ70 and I dont think any sj50 WT ever had the steel flares either. you should have WT width flares but made of plastic and not steel, a WT dash and possible NT 3.9 diff centres, I think the bits that seem to move around the most are you can have either diff centre and either driveshaft, I dont think any of them had a transfer handbrake pretty sure they all had the NT version of motor and box as well. |

Interesting. Mine copped the steel flares (i know they're steel, had to beat them back into shape with a hammer once!) and judging by the complete lack of modification on the vehicle when we bought it back in the mid 90s, i'd say they are factory fitted. Not sure about the diff centres tho. Never had them out. Thanks for that matey! Edit: Dash is wt, 1.3 is 1324cc and no transfer handbrake. |

my 89 hard top is a sj50 and the only difference that i have found is it had the 1324cc instead of the sj70 1296cc motor. |

My 88.5 was a bitsa... 3.7 diff gears, WT diffs, plastic flares, NT diff flanges !!! |

1324 is g13a early 1.3 they changed them to 1298 for some racing class or something |

i think the g13 switched from 'A' 1324cc to 'B' 1298cc block once the gti made its debut the gti had to be under 1300cc to fit in the lower rally class and from a tooling oint of view everything followed suit ( the 'b' block has extra mounting holes for accesories and a knock sensor location) the 1324cc WT tracks where probably suzuki using up its stockpiles since by 88 'jimnys wides had be phased out domestically for the next 5 years or so |

( 1.3 wt's in japan were like the sahara version of landcruiser) |

more for insurance and everything over there for a wide  , nearly impossible to find pics of JB32W (looks like aussie coil sierra but has g13bb) but you can find heaps of the JA12W (coily with no flares NT 660cc turbo)
 also someone get me some of these fancy slimline weather sheilds lol
