hey all just wondering what is the best most reliable engine conversion/swap for a G16A 1992 Vitara as I do a fair bit of highway driving during the week and 4wd on weekends, it is pretty weak on the highway with the G16A even with extractors and a 2 inch exhaust and engine fan exchanged for thermo fan.

Is a gti 1.3 head and option ? or a G16B ? J18 or J20 ? 4A-GE ? whats best ? (I understand there is a lot of modification and fabrication, loom swapping ect to make an engine swap work well but I really need more power)

any advice is greatly appreciated

G16B

However, there isn't any point doing the work to produce something suzuki already built. If you want a Vitara with a G16B or a J20 in it, buy a complete car and swap any useful accessories from your current car into it.

G16b would be simple.

If u want to go 4age i would do 4agze instead (or just g16b and save yhe hassle). Low down torque is good.

I don't reckon fitting a G16B to a G16A car is as simple as swapping bolt-on accessories off a G16A car onto a G16B car.

The 4AGE/GZE/20V problem, like almost every engine conversion ever, is the gearbox, especially in a vitara where you have to contend with a married transfer case. Nek minnit, you're trying to fit a hilux transfer under the car and the whole thing has become a nightmare.

Shocking the thermo fan didnt free up any ponies.

Facebook says turbo it!

AZ says buy the vit you wanted.

Best bang for buck is in the carb. If you want basic gains without big work then get the carb rebuilt, with larger jets, by someone who knows what they are doing. You'll find it gains better mid and top range

less broom, less dollars, far over the 32/36 weber, no stall issues, syncro butterflys, goes hard, big improvement over stock.
