I am looking at a front bar for a 1998 Grand Vitara. As has been mentioned before - Xrox, Uneek or custom are the 'value' picks. ARB/ECB are a touch too expensive.

Anyhow, the question : Xrox list a bar suitable for 1999 - 07/2005 Grand Vitara. Will it fit a 1998, and if so, why do they not list it?

I have spoken to the distributor and they cannot guarantee that it will fit, because they have never fitted the bar to a 1998 model.

Could there really be a difference in mounting points between a 1998 and 1999-on SQ625 Vitara?

Something to do with airbags/ABS maybe (not fitted in 1998, but fitted in 1999) - and would this make a mounting difference?
