Jimny 2000 M13A

ive had a couple issues with my engine recently and a compression test reveals the engine is on its last legs. done 250000kms so no surprises there. now i want to swap out the engine but what options do i have? is it easy enough to just chuck in another m series(how easily do they go in?). will a vvt motor work on mine seeing as its non vvt? my mate said he can get a 2012 swift K14B engine for really cheap but i didnt think it would be compatible. if it is thats great but i would just like to know what options i have.

cheers

Pre VVT M15a from a Holden Cruze (the small 4WD one, not the sedan) is practically worthless at a wrecker and a very easy conversion. There's a very informative thread on M series Jimny conversions here. It's basically swap some bits over, bolt the motor in, plug the wires in and go.

K series motors aren't a worthwhile conversion for us aussies.
