Hey zookers, I'm very new to this and have been working on my sj70 for about a year now. I recently had the A/c gassed and put a new belt on as its heating up. I ran the A/c for the first time for about an hour on the road no probs and then stopped at a servo for half an hour. When I hit the road again the compressor started making this horrible squealing sound as soon as I turned it on. Of course I switched it off but it wont stop making the sound every time I turn it back on. I am thinking it may need oil or something. Any pro tips / ideas? Thanks for your help. James.

Start by checking the belt tension - if it's loose it will slip (and squeal) when presented with the load of the compressor - anything other than that, take it back to whoever gassed it up - there's very little you can do without the tools & experience required for air conditioning work. If it does require oil, adding that oil will require removal of the gas, purging the system to determine how much oil is in it, adding the correct amount of oil and then replacing the gas, all of which should have been done prior to gassing the system up.
