I've just bought a suzuki jimny and want to raise it 3 inches I've seen a kit from jimny bits for £958 they said everything is included in the kit. What size wheels do you recommend and how will it effect on road driving. I do alot of miles both motorway and B roads?

In short, you don't want 3" of lift. Nothing about the car is improved with 3" of lift.

Suspension lift has nothing to do with tyre size.

Body lift, bumpstop spacing and guard cutting are the only ways to fit a bigger tyre.

Pinky, The quote below steve's post, in his signature, is a reference to steve on a completely different topic. If it wasn't for that his posts would be as dry as a camel's scrotum.
But they often contain good advice.


In a nutshell:
stick to 50mm lift maximum.
stick to 215/75 r15 maximum unless you sort gearing.
The more you lift the car the worse it will handle. (Jimnys already suck at handling)
The larger the tyre the worse your performance will be until you start to fix gearing for much larger tyres.
Consider a body lift instead of suspension lift if you have clearance issues with larger tyres.

For the sort of dollars you'll spend at Jimnybits including shipping would be better spent on an Australian supplied 40-50mm kit that actually works. A 3" kit won't flex and provide a comfortable ride. Get something designed for you driving, rock/dirt roads/car park/ whatever, let that settle and then decide on you tyre size and if more lift is required.

215/75 ... maybe 225/75 tyres will give a little extra ground clearance without doing evil things to on road performance'

1 - 1.5 inch body lift is about perfect on a Jim.

I loved the way my 4" lifted jimny drove. A little bit more power would have made it perfect.
