so ive just bought a 99 jimny that's had a full dash/loom/ecu swapped from an M13A VVT model. it has an M16A VVT in it out of a Swift Sport, but only runs 1.5 injectors and 1.3 throttle body, im looking at putting in the 1.8 throttle body and 1.6 injectors. is it as simple as putting the injectors in? im aware the idle control valve needs to be swapped on the throttle bodies but not sure on the injectors? looking to get a bit more power out of it. Cheers

You should look in the 'Good Tech' part of the forum. Read the thread on M series engine conversions. I started it off, and others have added updates.
Your conversion sounds like too much hard work, but anyhow, lucky for you someone did all the hard work for you. I am surprised that you have the M16A from a Swift Sport. But certainly, the M13A ECU runs the 1.5 injectors and the 1.3 throttle body quite nicely. Although you may on occasion observe an intermittent engine light for the 'Run Rich/run Lean' code. Nothing to worry about.
I trialled bigger throttle body (M18A) on the M13A ECU without success. Idle fluctuated, generally too high. So personally I would say if your set up is running well, leave it alone. That being said, you will note from the other thread that others posted successful reports of running different throttle bodies from the M13A ECU. So maybe send a couple pm to them to see If they had issues later, and find out exactly what they did if it's still running good.
All the best!

Cheers Squibby. Ended up going with the 1.8 throttle body with much success, power is alot more usable now, comes on alot sooner in the rev range. Had the opportunity to put the little beast on a dyno at a local car meet and made 88hp at the wheels! Hahaha, however it's leaning out at high rpm, wondering if the 1.6 injectors would help this. I have read that post on the M series conversions and it was a good help to work out what's what. Put the 60mm toughdog lift in the other night and it rides a hell of a lot nicer then the flogged factory gear. Time for bigger tyres next!

Excellent work! Bigger injectors is easy job. Just pull the fuse on the fuel pump while engine is running until it dies. That'll relieve the fuel pressure and then you may begin. Did you use the M13 idle control valve? Or the M18?

M18 control valve, just dropped the whole throttle body on and it idles fine. 1.6 injectors are looking to be around $200 do you think it would be worth it? Just can't see it making that much of a difference. Also is the 1.3 exhaust flange the same as the 1.6? Would like to get a set of extractors for it. Cheers
