Could not find much on testing here when I had an ABS issue so here goes - 2010 Jimny. My ABS light is on. Not a fuse, everything looks fine, although a bit of strain on wiring underneath from getting caught on things I guess, but no obvious damage. Relieved the strain just to be sure.
Have no software like my Astra "Op-Com" clone to check the ECU errors - has anyone got and using a cheap clone software hardware to read the Jimny ECU?? From what I can read it is NOT a standard OBD2 port.

Removed the ABS unit plug but no wiring diagram so it was done "in the dark". Multimeter on ohms to see which wires in the plug go to the sensors. Found three pairs with about 1430ohms. But no fourth. Hmmmm. :?
So car on hoist with wheels free, and change the multimeter to frequency (and max/min so I could do without assistance). one pair of 1415 ohms at a time, and rotate one wheel to see if I get a frequency. Woopee I do even as very slow rotation.
So I have both rear, and drivers side sending pulses. But no passengers side.

Found the plug which has both front sensors under the battery tray. Multimeter told me it's the faulty cable going to the front axle. Removed the full cable and sensor from the front wheel, onto the bench. 200mm from the sensor, I cut the sheath to expose the two cores and measure resistance with two small pins penetrating the core sheaths. I have ~1400 ohms so the sensor is probably ok. Wave a metal screwdriver over the sensor (it's magnetic), and read a frequency, so even more hopeful.
VERY carefully check the sheath and find a spot that looks suspect, so split the sheath and find the two copper cores are pulled apart leaving the core sheath like a pigs tail. So solder the cores back together and heatshrink cores. Ready to go, but just a multimeter check on the bench first. Bugga, no resistance reading!!!!!!!
A second spot had the same issue! So do a similar repair again and this time I have resistance from terminal to terminal.
Now I can apply adhesive headshrink where I have cut open the sheath and we are ready to re-install.

Plug it all back together - the ABS light is still on. Mumble mumble. Disconnect the battery, but that is a waste of time.
Go for a drive and I'm hardly out my gate and the light goes off. :woohoo:

SO I'm happy another issue is fixed, and has not cost me except for some heatshrink.
