Just wondering whats the most lift people have put in their vitaras? Body and suspension wise?

Body - No lift
Suspension ~25mm front, ~35mm back

I've got 2 inch body and 4 inch suspension, has anyone else put this much in theirs? So 6 inch overall lift

Yes, it's been done before, but most people find the car works better with less lift. 4" of spring lift will see the suspension operating well outside of it's design parameters just at ride height.

I've got a diff drop and stronger cvs so took the right neasures to make sure it wont be too much strain but wondering if theres other measures i should take?

Take 2" of spring lift out.

Heavy duty or not, you'll have excessive cv joint angles, little droop, poor compression travel, very high loads on the idler arm, and a car much less stable than ideal.

Out of interest, what size tyre?

On mine (92 LWB Vit) currently
Rear 50mm with a centre diff A arm spacer
Front 35mm with EFS front struts which have stock travel but shaft is also 35mm longer to compensate.
got 235/75R15 which are 15mm taller than stock (in radius not diameter)
To have more lift as Steve says you need to change a lot of parts front and rear to have the driveline and steering survive and work properly

In QLD as I understand it 75mm is the max lift you can legally do and can be a combo of suspension and tyres but no more than 50mm each
Body lifts, no longer allowed, not sure if they are still possible with an engineering certificate
I'll be adding diff drop, camber pins, top mount flip, longer rear shocks different springs etc to mine to focus on droop, there's no rules on that at least as long as whatever springs I use will stay in their seats

The bigger question is why? What's the lift actually improving? If that's not completely obvious or self evident then maybe reassess if you need it.

Im running 31 inch mud tyres on a lwb 93 vitara, initially i onky had the 2 inch suspension and 2 inch body but it wasnt enough to fit the tyres i wanted so hence the extra 2 inch in suspension which allowed room for the tyres which then gave me more ground clearance.

Ah but it did, it was the shocks that weren't allowing the give, so a bit more in the shocks to allow room when flexing etc fit them quite snug! And i understand the whole strain on the cv's etc, but my car wasn't built to be sensible.

I have no idea what that means. There are exactly three ways of fitting tyres. Bumpstop spacing, body lift or guard cutting. If your 4" spring lift has made your tyres fit, then you're using spring bind or excessive spring rate to prevent the axles moving to their factory locations. This is bad practise and contributes to chassis cracking in vitaras.

A mate used to wheel a vitara on 33's with no lift. It was quite stable and capable. It has excellent wheel travel as the bumpstop spacing used allowed long shocks and strut spacers to be fitted.
