Alan J has built one & it is at our factory at the moment (normally lives up at his farm & is going to head up there again in about 2 weeks time).
Donor was a crashed SQ420 SWB - is a manual.
It is tight - much beating on the firewall.
Biggest issue (apparently - done before my time there) was getting the hydraulic clutch stuff to work - still has (Grand) Vitara gearbox & attached transfer. this puts the tailshaft on a kooky angle for the std Sierra W/T diff - at least it is in a LWB styleside. Doubt this arrangement would work is a SWB.
The thing certainly gets up & boogies - fastest Sierra I've been in. It's on 31s with some t/case gears. Hasn't really been used in anger but you'd want to be gentle with it I suspect.
It is engineered (a few years ago - might not be possible now?) & currently on Vic. 'Club Reg'.
